Now you can see, hear, touch and taste the history of cod fishing in the area of Troms. Learn more about why and how the Norwegian Arctic cod fishing, and stock fish, have been so important for the people living in the Northern Norway.
The tour is based in our restaurant «Full Steam», behind Kystens Hus in Tromsø town centre. We meet our guests every day at 14:00 and give them a tour in our museum. We guide our guests through the important history of the Norwegian arctic cod fishery in Troms county, from fishing boat to export, stock fish and the important role of cod liver oil. Our guests will get the chance to sample a variety of tasters including arctic cod, authentic caviar, stock fish, cod liver oil and cod tongues. The exhibition is comprised old fishery equipment which was used both on land and at sea; everything is genuine and has previously been in use.
